My Baking Story

a dream tucked away – and found again

Hi, I'm Cait!

Long before I ever picked up a piping bag, I was the kid yelling “BAM!” at the TV with Emeril Legasse and completely mesmerized by Cake Boss and Ace of Cakes.

I was fascinated by the artistry, the mechanics, the way a cake could turn into something bigger than dessert — it could become someone’s dream brought to life.

In 7th grade, becoming a baker was the dream.

Somewhere along the way, though,
that dream got tucked away.

That is — until this year.

When I asked my wife what she wanted for her birthday, she had one request: a cake handmade by me — not store-bought.

So I made a slightly chaotic Shrek bathing in mud cake… and I loved every second of it. It wasn’t perfect, but it reignited something in me that I didn’t realize I had buried.

Where I Am Now

One cake turned into another.

The growth was fast and the encouragement was loud.

“You should do this.”
“If you’re this talented already,
imagine where you could go from here.”

And instead of laughing it off, I leaned in.

After a few practice cakes (and realizing that we don’t have enough bellies to keep eating them all), I decided to go big. What started as a spark is now turning into wedding orders, tiered cakes, and over a hundred cupcakes at a time.

Am I still growing? Absolutely.
But I care deeply about every single creation that leaves my kitchen. And I can’t wait to see just how far this dream takes me.
